The Charlton Fire Department provides basic/advanced life support and transport capabilities to the community. Members of the department are trained to the level of EMT-Basic and EMT-Paramedic level. The fire department responds to all medical calls in the town and is often called to assist neighboring communities with three licensed transporting ambulances. The department staffs these three units with Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technicians.
In addition, we have a EFR-Paramedic level response SUV vehicle capable of responding to incidents and providing advanced level of care to patients while waiting for mutual aid ambulance to respond.
